Murder suspect evokes gay panic defense, says victim made ‘sexual advances’

Dallas police this morning (Tuesday, June 23) arrested a man suspected of murdering a man and setting a fire next to him.

Kieron Alexander, 25, is suspected of murdering Ricky Griffin, 54, in a far north Dallas apartment on Monday (June 22). Alexander told detectives he killed Griffin because Griffin “made several unwanted sexual gestures toward him,” according to the police report.

Alexander fled the scene but attempted to return to the apartment when detectives were on site. He was booked Tuesday morning. Bail is set at $500,000.
