Update - DPS: Arson suspect in Capitol car fire arrested in Iowa
The man suspected of setting a car on fire outside the Texas Capitol last week was arrested on Wednesday evening in Iowa, according to a statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Michael Patrick Wagner, a 38-year-old Iowa resident, was arrested by the Marion Police Department for an unrelated charge as Texas DPS officers were travelling to the state with an arrest warrant for the arson, according to DPS officials.
Wagner is currently being held in the Linn County Jail for an unrelated charge. Extradition proceedings for the Texas warrant are pending, officials said.

Investigators were able to identify Wagners vehicle through a Capitol complex parking ticket and found Wagner in Linn County using vehicle information.
