Man Says He Was Gay-Bashed At Cedar Springs Bar, But Police Let Suspects Go (GRAPHIC PHOTOS)
A gay man claims Dallas police declined to arrest several women who brutally assaulted him in what he says was a hate crime outside a bar on the Cedar Springs strip last weekend.
However, a DPD spokeswoman said no one was arrested because responding officers treated the incident as a fight, meaning any charges will depend on a follow-up investigation.
Michael Fletcher, 52, of San Diego, said five Hispanic women in their 20s had attacked his male friend outside Alexandre’s at about 2 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9. When Fletcher tried to intervene, the women jumped him.
“They piled on me like a bunch of wild hornets and beat the hell of me and said, ‘Kill the motherfucking faggot,’” Fletcher said. “They had me on the ground, they were pounding my head into the curb, stomping me, kicking me, beating me.”
