It's been a whirlwind of activity and excitement down here, starting with the DU Caucus on Thursday at The Grove on Lamar. I should have taken pictures of the gang, but I am really glad to run into thevoiceofreason, PDittie, and everyone else there. We had a great time.
The original plan was for me to represent SD-16 on the Resolutions Committee like I did in Corpus Christi. A dark horse candidate came in, one who served on Resolutions on the senatorial level, but I had no idea he was interested in state. Long story short, I lost, but I know Gordon's going to do a great job representing us.
Gun Owner's Caucus was smaller than usual, but then again, turnout at the convention overall is a little light. I'm still Chair, but we are currently running under half staff. Had some lively discussions in there, however.
I hear the Star-Spangled Banner being sung downstairs. Has the convention already reconvened? By George, it has. I fooled myself into thinking it started at noon. But I just came out of an informative presentation by the Texas Freedom Network called Ignorance is Not a Texas Value: Electing a Smarter State Board of Education. All 15 seats on the SBOE are up for grabs this year due to redistricting, and we got to see what the extreme right has been doing to weaken Texas schools, so yeah, we're pretty motivated to stop them.
Got a hug and a sticker from my Democratic Congressional candidate (Katherine Savers McGovern, running against Pete Sessions) earlier today. Got to sit next to my state legislature candidate (Carol Kent, running for an open seat) at the SD-16 caucus. Making new friends, reconnecting with old friends.
LaRouche delegation outside of convention center, banging on a drum and intoning something about Glass-Stegall.
Better head down to the convention floor. Someone's belting out a tune at full volume. It could get rowdy. Which is just the way I like my Democratic conventions.

(145,595 posts)I missed them. I enjoy going up to them and asking them how many years did LaRouche serve in prison. They do not like talking about this.
KP George was at the convention. He kept trying to tell me (and anyone else who would listen) that he ran a good race against Kesha Rogers and I was not in the mood to argue and did my best to escape and to avoid him. KP put his ego ahead of the party and ran a poor campaign. The Fort Bend Party and clubs paid for a mailing that help him win Fort Bend County. KP did little or nothing in Brazoria or Harris counties which is why he lost

(145,595 posts)The security was not that tight at the convention and I saw on the kesha rogers webpage that she spoke to the veteran's caucus. Kesha is crazy but not stupid .Kesha was a coward and did not tell the caucus that she wants to impeach President Obama. I wish that Kesha had the courage to tell the members of that caucus her true positions on the issues.
Kesha also had a "rally" outside the convention site and evidently had three people attend. I did see the rally but she has a picture on her website. The picture of Kesha's "rally" was not clear but I did not see her normal impeach Obama message or the poster with a picture of President Obama with a hitler mustache. Again, Kesha is a coward and is trying to hide her true positions from the real democrats at the convention. I find the fact that Kesha is a coward to be rather amusing.
I am so sad that KP George ran such a bad campaign against Kesha. The Fort Bend Democrats did their job and held Kesha to 42% of the vote in Fort Bend County. When you tell the voters about Kesha' true positions, they rejected her.
BTW,.I refuse to post the links to Kesha's youtube video or her site.
