$35,000 To The AG Greg Abbott Gubernatorial Campaign From Trump To Drop Texan's Claims

"A former deputy chief of Abbott's consumer protection division, John Owens, claims that his bosses nixed a request to sue Trump University for illegal business practices,” Svitek wrote. "A memo, dated May 11, 2010 and provided to the Tribune and other news organizations, show that Owens and his colleagues wanted to ask Trump University for a $5.4 million settlement.”

Owens said the lawsuit was swept under the rug.

More than three years after the business closed up shop in Texas, Trump made two contributions to Abbott’s gubernatorial campaign – one for $25,000 in July 2013 and the other for $10,000 in May 2014 – Trump's only substantial venture into Texas politics. Critics of the governor in the state Democratic Party said Thursday that Abbott is "on the corrupt Trump payroll."

"The unthinkable has happened — the media’s obsession with Donald Trump is now leading them to highlight the job then-Attorney General Abbott did in protecting Texas consumers,” said Abbott spokesman Matt Hirsch.

Now Abbott and other GOP Controlled state officials endorse Trump for President. Trump has about 3,500 law suites against him these days. People are looking at corruption these days too.

He doesn't have any.

In the Hollywood version of this story, Abbott holds out for a considerably higher sum.

Page you linked.

Recommending a settlement offer over $5m for breaking TX laws, defrauding Texans, etc. Very descriptive of the bogus operations of "Trump University", and even use of the word university was a violation of state law.

On one hand, Abbott claims he protected the consumers of Texas by forcing Trump-U out of the state. Then, with the other hand, Abbott endorses Trump for president.

Who is Greg Abbott protecting now?

I'm just repeating what Abbott's spokesperson said:

"The Texas Attorney General's office investigated rich asshole U, and its demands were met — Trump U was forced out of Texas and consumers were protected," responded Abbott spokesman Matt Hirsch.

The state investigator says that Texas was preparing to make rich asshole U pay $5.4 million for defrauding its citizens. But that whole thing went poof. Tiny Hands packed up his carpetbag and left. Three years later, Abbott's gubernatorial campaign benefits ($35,000) from a rare Texas donation by Ser Drumpf. And now Greg Abbott supports the soggy cheeto-man for preznit.

It's simple. It's so simple you wouldn't believe how simple it is. It's huge, the simpleness of it.
