Cedar Hill murder suspect taken into custody in Georgetown
Georgetown police: Man started fire, tried to flee before his arrest
Silvestre Franco-Luviano has been taken custody, Georgetown Police Chief Wayne Nero said.
Police received reports that Franco-Luviano, 40, was at an apartment unit in the 2100 block of North Austin Avenue in Georgetown. Relatives of Franco-Luviano live at the unit, but he was alone at the time of the incident.
A SWAT team was about to begin negotiating with Franco-Luviano when a small fire broke out at the apartment, police said. Nero said Franco-Luviano started the fire and then broke a wall to escape into the adjacent apartment unit, which was empty because the complex had been previously evacuated.
Franco-Luviano tried to escape on foot but he was tackled and captured by members of the SWAT team, Nero said. He was in police custody about 7:30 p.m., Nero said.
