Texas A&M student senators face discipline over disparaging remarks about women

Two student senators at Texas A&M University are being criticized and face disciplinary investigations over remarks made about women in a group text message.

The university's student body president, Hannah Wimberly, displayed screen shots of the messages at a student senate meeting Wednesday, The Eagle reported. She specifically called out messages by senators Taylor Baumann and Nick Page.

In the conversation, which took place in the GroupMe app, messages appear to criticize Wimberly's appearance and compare her 17-year-old sister to a pig.

"Let me be as straightforward as possible: This is disgusting," Wimberly said.
