Houston-area teacher punched second-grader in face, officials say

A Houston-area teacher lost her job and faces a felony charge after she was accused of punching a second-grader in the face last month.

Lisa Allison, a 48-year-old teacher at Landis Elementary School in Alief ISD, allegedly told the child "I'm tired of you," and made him leave class, according to court documents obtained by the Houston Chronicle.

Allison told police the boy was thrown out of class for making noise and then began kicking lockers in the hallway. She said she went to escort him to the office and didn't remember hitting him, but did say she held him on the floor, the Chronicle reported.

The documents reportedly include video footage that shows the student sitting on the floor in the hallway during the Oct. 12 incident and the teacher bending over to tell him something.

Some kids just keep pushing those buttons until a teacher just can't take it anymore. I've been there, and had to resign because I couldn't take it anymore.
