Former Cameron County judge arrested
BROWNSVILLE — Former Cameron County Judge Pete Sepulveda Jr. has been arrested on charges of abuse of official capacity, misapplication of fiduciary property and theft by a public servant, authorities revealed yesterday in Brownsville.
According to the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office, the arrest stems from an investigation that began in March 2016, after the DA’s office received a complaint alleging that county workers had paved a particular private road.
The name of the private road or area of the county the road is located was not released.
Sepulveda turned himself in to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office late yesterday afternoon for processing, authorities said.
