Black Lives Matter protesters set to intersect with Super Bowl crowds

Hundreds gathered at Hermann Park by noon to begin a protest march against the presidency of Donald Trump. The march is set to end at NRG Park, intersecting with Super Bowl crowds.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the group started walking on sidewalks and streets toward the stadium. More than a dozen police officers on horseback escorted the crowd.

The protestors chanting "Black Lives Matter" got cheering applause from Atlanta Falcons fans at a tailgate gathering off Fannin.

Lane Lewis, chairman of the Harris County Democratic Party, helped coordinate the march purposefully scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday.
