Man arrested after throwing rock through Wells Fargo window in downtown Amarillo

A man was arrested Friday afternoon after causing a disturbance at the downtown Wells Fargo, then throwing a rock through an exterior window that hit an employee.

Jason Lee Deloye, 35, was taken to the Potter County Detention Center and charged with assault causing bodily injury and state jail felony criminal mischief over $5,000, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Officers were called the downtown Wells Fargo at 905 S. Fillmore St. about 1 p.m., when a man was yelling, cursing and refused to leave. While the call was coming in, officers were told there had been a loud, gunshot-like noise in the bank.

Officers determined that no shots had been fired, but the man had entered the bank and asked about opening an account before yelling profanities. At that time, an employee escorted the man out of the bank through the south doors.
