State ag commissioner blasts Six Flags for removing Confederate flag

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, to put it mildly, is not happy about Six Flags Over Texas removing the Confederate flag and four others from several of its amusement parks.

Calling the decision “a sad day for Texas and all of America,” Miller said in a statement released Monday that he was disappointed to see the company “succumb to this scourge of race baiting, liberal activism.”

“The bringing down of these flags as well as the removal of our historical monuments around the country is just another act of appeasement to the intolerant, liberal, and oftentimes violent left who strive to establish a false narrative where our state’s and nation’s history is one dimensional. It is not!” Miller said.

Miller said he’s concerned about “the militant, anarchist movement sweeping the country,” a trend that “very well could eventually bring down the American flag.”

One week after the Donald Trump completely failed to lead in the wake of the deadly racial violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, some House Republicans are marketing new, offensive talking points: The violence was staged by Democrats in order to damage Trump and win seats in next year’s midterm elections.

“This has been stirred up,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told Fox Business on Monday. “This is being driven by forces of evil that are so far beyond what normal people can think about.”

Spelling out his baseless scenario, Gohmert suggests the Democratic mayor of Charlottesville and the Democratic governor of Virginia somehow conspired to lure white supremacists and liberal counter-protesters to the city, made sure they battled in the streets, and that law enforcement did nothing in response.

“There is a strategy to make race the number one issue in 2018 and 2020. They think it’s their ticket back this is going to blow up in their face,” Gohmert said.

Remove a flag and the park name doesn't make much sense. I'll admit that much, although I can think of a solution.
