Angela Paxton, Ken Paxton's wife, mulling state Senate run
Angela Paxton, wife of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, is considering running for the Texas Senate next year, according to multiple reports.
Paxton is eyeing a North Texas district represented by state Sen. Van Taylor, R-Plano, who is expected to run for Congress. Ken Paxton represented the district for two years.
Angela Paxton is a guidance counselor at Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco and is active in Republican Party politics, according to the Texas Tribune. She garnered attention for a song she wrote, Pistol-Packin Mama, and performed in 2015. Im a pistol-packin mama and my husband sues Obama, the song goes.
Phillip Huffines, chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party and twin brother of state Sen. Don Huffines, R-Dallas, announced his candidacy for Senate District 8 in March and has raised $550,000, according to The Dallas Morning News.
