A&M Consolidated High School student charged with making threat against school

College Station -- The Brazos County Sheriff's Office has charged a 17-year-old A&M Consolidated High School student with making a threat toward the school.

Alexandria Denise Rivera was booked into the Brazos County Jail on Thursday. Her bail had not been set late Thursday.

Authorities said Rivera posted a threat against the school on social media prior to the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Florida, in which 17 people were killed, but school administrators and law enforcement officials learned about it this week.

Rivera was charged with making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
