Pete Sessions, Colin Allred race rated a toss-up by second analyst

WASHINGTON -- There’s growing consensus that the race between Rep. Pete Sessions and challenger Colin Allred will be a close one.

Inside Elections, a nonpartisan elections newsletter, has moved the contest from “likely Republican” to “toss-up” -- signaling that Sessions, a Dallas Republican first elected in 1996, could be in trouble.

Two other Texas districts are rated as toss-ups by at least one major independent handicapper.

Democrats need to flip 24 Republican seats to take control of the House and are looking to Texas to provide some of those seats.
