WASHINGTON — Sen. Ted Cruz caught people's attention on social media when he made a joke about Disney's donation to help rebuild the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

After the French landmark went up in flames on Monday, the Walt Disney Company joined other corporations to assist with the restoration project. The corporation, known for films and theme parks, pledged $5 million in aid on Wednesday.
