Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is set to make $6,000 for each course he co-teaches at the University of Texas at Austin along with $12,000 for any course he teaches independently, according to his offer letter obtained by mySA.com.
The UT alum has already been serving as a visiting instructor for a class Advanced Producing: Script to Screen he created and taught with instructor Scott Rice. In late August, UT Austin announced he would be upgraded to professor status.
According to his offer letter, McConaughey will serve as a Professor of Practice in the department of radio, television and film (RTF) at the Moody College of Communication. The producer is encouraged to "teach and mentor" students in RTF and other areas of Moody College.
The letter said they would like to explore other classes that McConaughey may teach or support in the future, adding his offer is in line with other faculty members of this rank and type at Moody College.
