EL PASO -- After Beto O'Rourke's exit from the presidential race, many supporters remain undecided as to which candidate to back and are unsure what's next for the former congressman from El Paso.
Beto O'Rourke's own focus the next few days is spending time with his three kids and watching Friday's UTEP men's basketball game. It's a big change from how he spent the past few months on the presidential campaign trail.
Though O'Rourke's no longer in the running to be the Democratic presidential nominee, dozens of people showed up Thursday night to Hope and Anchor to have a drink with him, thank him for running and express their continued support, no matter what he decides to do next.
Barbara Walker, 66, has known O'Rourke for nearly two decades since he started his software company and said she's considered all of the options that possibly lie ahead of him, from becoming vice president to running for Texas governor. The one office she doesn't see him in is as mayor of El Paso.

(1,076 posts)Another Senate run would have been his best bet, and 2020 would have been a good year for it. A blue wave national election could have pulled him over the edge in Texas.
Especially if Castro were the VP pick, which Ive believed hes needed to be since 2016.
Him or Xavier Becerra. Putting a Hispanic on the ticket could very well flip Texas and Arizona, too. Imagine all of the southwest going blue.
