(145,321 posts)Following the 2010 election, there were 101 republicans in the Texas House compared to 49 Democrats. We need 9 seats to flip control of the Texas house and to have a say in redistricting. Texas will be a battleground state and this will help down ballot races

(1,990 posts)However, It is so hard to believe. The loud, proud, obnoxious, racist, white trailer house and manufactured home residents in my rural Texas county have their TRUMP 2020 Flags and Trump - No more bullshit Flags flying as high as they can. I would so love for the dotard to lose Texas.

Imagine Donnie's consternation at being the first Republican to lose Texas since Gerald Ford (Who was far and away a better President than Donnie).

(5,315 posts)As they see their state being ravaged by COVID, all because the governor follow trump's instructions to open up too early, voters are naturally turning away from trump as the fruits of his ill conceived policies hit them close to home.

Romney beat Obama by 16%. trump won in 2016 by 9%. Beto was within 3% of beating Carnival Cruz. Texas is becoming younger and more urban
There are demographic trends that have made clear that Texas will be a blue state. For example the rural vs. Urban mix has been changing
