Johhny Shelton out of Galveston County

Johnny was passed up as a delegate for Obama in 2008. In 2012 we would not allow that to happen again and we worked hard to make him a delegate in 2012. I think that was a very proud moment for him. I was very happy for him. He was so deserving of the honor.

Johnny passed away last night. I know some of you guys knew Johnny. I have known him since joining the party. He was the spark plug for Galveston county. A real good person and great friend. He was the nicest person. Just an incredibly great human being and a hard working Democrat at that.

Services are being worked out.

He's joined the other great Democrats at the biggest Democratic Convention in the sky. May he rest in peace.

It was a full house at the church. Lots of friends and familiar faces, and lots of stories shared about Johnny's boundless energy and strong convictions. He will be missed for so many reasons... for his ability to accomplish so much and motivate so many, for his generous spirit, for his great personality, his love for his friends and family, and for his cute crooked smile. I don't know if I'll ever be able to volunteer at another event without first looking for Johnny. He was always the first person I looked for.
