Ryan Crocker still a Texas A&M employee after guilty plea

Decorated diplomat and Texas A&M dean Ryan Crocker is still in the employ of the university following a guilty plea in connection with a drunken driving accident, an A&M spokesman confirmed Wednesday.

Jason Cook, A&M's vice president for marketing and communications, had no comment beyond confirming that Crocker is still on leave as dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service.

"It has been Texas A&M's long-standing practice to refrain from publicly discussing personnel matters," wrote Cook in an emailed statement. "However, Ryan Crocker's status with the university remains unchanged."

Cook said previously that A&M had rules and procedures that govern faculty and staff behavior, but declined to say if Crocker violated any of those policies.
