Related: About this forumWhat to expect as Texas heads to the U.S. Supreme Court in bid to overturn the Affordable Care Act
by Emma Platoff, Texas TribuneTexas, leading a coalition of Republican states, heads to the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday morning to argue that the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional and should be struck down in its entirety.
On Texas side: the Trump administration. On the other side: a coalition of Democratic states led by California.
Whats at stake?
Health insurance and popular benefits for millions of Americans, including some 1 million in Texas who have subsidized health insurance plans under the law. The sprawling health law touches nearly every facet of the American health care system from popular protections for individuals with preexisting conditions to no-cost benefits for certain health services to allowing young adults to stay on their parents insurance through age 26. Experts say its almost impossible to imagine the chaos that would come from ending the law without a replacement, particularly during the worsening coronavirus pandemic. Texas already has the nations highest uninsured rate.
Gov. Greg Abbott said years ago that if the Affordable Care Act were to fall, Texas would be ready with a replacement, but no plan has materialized. It would be difficult for the state to cover the gaps without congressional action, given its limited regulatory authority over the insurance market.

Now is not the time to inflict damage on potentially millions of citizens who need healthcare. If this is what they consider 'Compassionate' conservativism, they show us their true callous and deadly desire to wound minorities and anyone not in the top 1%. Despicable is not a strong enough word for what i think of these repugnicants.

And Ted and Corndog too.
I saw somewhere that Abbott is planning a campaign for POTUS next time.

is long over. No plan has ever materialized, either via trump or any republican state legislature.

Want to overthrow the ACA. So, in my opinion the Supreme Court should rule for the States that want to overturn the ACA, and apply the judgement against only to those states.
