AUSTIN -- Within weeks after announcing that he will run for state office, George P. Bush of Fort Worth has received more than $1.3 million in contributions, even though he hasn't said which post he will seek.
The grandson of a former president and the nephew of another, Bush raked in $1,350,489 in the 39 business days between Nov. 7 and Dec. 31, his campaign manager, Trey Newton, told The Associated Press late Monday.
Bush's first contribution came from his father, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, for $50,000; his uncle, George W. Bush, also contributed $50,000.
Bush got $45,000 from Houston home builder Bob Perry, a Texas GOP mega-donor, Newton said. He got $20,000 more from Perry's wife, Doylene.

(18,063 posts)It's almost a given this guy will run and win some office in Texas. And I have no doubt that in his mind he has the White House in his head. He thinks he'll be the first (Latino) president.
I hope the American people will not forget how bad both terms of 41 and 43 were. I expect no better from this one. The very fact that Bob "Swiftboat" Perry is giving him huge start up money lets you know where his politics lie. Pretty much in the pond scum along with Perry.
