An open invitation to all female Texans

Come to Illinois. No Abbott, no good ole white boys telling you what to do with your bodies, no fire ants, Democratic Governor, Democratic Senators and the weather is hella better than what you guys have right now. Plenty of jobs, and a LOT less Covid! See you soon!

It is indeed a fun place, or at least was during my years 1962-1999.
Great restaurants, museums, golf courses, and da Bears and the great Michael Jordan.
But the extreme weather go to me as I got older.

Florida is mostly summer all year round with high humidity to boot.
But there is no snow here and no bitter cold.

The thing I really hate here are the fire ants. They are absolutely brutal.
Working in yard, they climb up my feet, and before I realize it they bite in many places.
Itches like crazy at first and soon it literally feels like feet are on fire. And then the real trouble begins.
Those bites become boils because of infection from the bacteria from ant bites.
It is 2 weeks of pure agony!
Best remedy I found so far for ant bites is dab with hydrogen peroxide daily, 3 or 4 times.
That dries out the boils and kills the bacteria.

I lived in Illinois a few years and I remember it gets humid, but the summer doesn't last for, like, SEVEN MONTHS.

Ladies, if you can, get the hell out of Texas!

Be safe, secure and take control of your life away from the theocrats, authoritarians, misogynists and idiot men in the Lone Star State.

here in western MT. License plates don’t lie…Texans are everywhere. I’m very curious to know why there are so many…and why Montana? I so hope they’re left leaning Texans…My little corner of Montana is quite blue politically and I don’t want that to change!

Bill Maher (I thik him, anyway, ) had a segment on Billings being the fastest growing city due to the influx of rednecks, MAGAts, anti-vaxxers, and other assorted critters.

They’ve always been a nightmare. I am hopeful that some of these TX critters researched the areas to which they’ve moved…I would do that if I moved out of state…and maybe there are some blue voters fleeing repressive TX and coming here it blue Missoula. 🤞

I have had to go down to SE Idaho several times this summer and I gotts ta tell ya, tourist town near the state line is a hellhole. I cringe whenever I go through. The first time I cried, now I'm just disgusted. But you should see what's beyond the spud curtain out along the Snake River Plain, so many people, it's scary.

We need about four real good winters in a row just to make sure. I want to see some serious -20F for a few weeks in a row like we used to get and lots of snow.

Agree with your analysis and remedy, though those long weeks of endless cold may be beyond what can be expected, unfortunately.

The divide. I have been going down to Pocatello for medical purposes because I know the team that I am dealing with. Can't find what I need in Montana. Tourist town is just west of the park, I lived there for quite a while but left because of out of control tourism and greed of the locals. They turned it into a shithole, same thing is happening north of the park too, same greedy mistakes will crash that which they claim to be promoting.

. . . Texas Republicans have enacted three laws that set the stage for what the Republican Party wants the entire nation to look like.

-- The anti-abortion law that this thread is addressing -- women have no say in their reproductive health.
-- Anyone can openly carry a loaded firearm of any type -- no license, no permit, no background investigation, no fingerprints, no safety training -- A N Y O N E -- meaning any insane, raving nutcase can openly carry any type of firearm, loaded.
-- Blacks and Latinos who are natural-born citizens, no criminal record, cannot vote.

And that, folks, is what the old white men who are the Republican Party want to entire nation to look like.

It costs money to move, and I don't do winter well. It's a nice thought, though. Thank you for the invite. My preference would be to improve Texas. At one point it was better than this.
