Kyle approves involvement in 100-mile trail linking San Antonio to Austin
The massive 100-mile trail that hopes to link San Antonio to Austin has made some strides recently.
Last week, Kyle City Council approved a citywide trail system that will a part of the Great Springs Project. The plan aims to connect San Antonio to Austin through New Braunfels, San Marcos, Kyle, and Buda.
According to city documents, the trail has been tentatively named The Vybe Kyle. It will feature "Vybes" shopping, dining, relaxation, and park amenities. Developments along the Vybe are encouraged to face the trail to attract foot traffic.
City documents stated it may also include signage, raised speed tables, art installations, gardens, benches, security cameras, swings, ponds, and fitness stations. Part of the trail will be 12 feet wide to accommodate golf carts and light poles.
