Two planes make safe emergency landings after colliding (College Station)

A mid-air collision prompted two single-engine planes to make emergency landings at Easterwood airport Friday morning, authorities said.

No one was injured, according to airport officials.

A spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said an eastbound Cirrus aircraft flew under and struck a Cessna aircraft with its windshield at about 8 a.m.

Airport director John Happ said emergency crews received a call at 8:10 a.m. that the 4-passenger Cirrus SR22 GTS aircraft with one occupant needed an emergency landing because its windshield had burst.
