None of them have any significant backing, name recognition, or governmental experience. It also became apparent that Julián Castro is not running since he interviewed Beto a couple weeks ago.

Unless one of the other candidates in the GOP primary upsets Abbott, the race is set as Abbott vs. O'Rourke. The filing deadline for the primaries is December 13.
