Texas attorney general cannot unilaterally prosecute election cases, state's highest criminal court rulesby Patrick Svitek, Texas Tribune
Texas highest court for criminal cases on Wednesday struck down a law that allows the attorney general to unilaterally prosecute election cases.
The states Court of Criminal Appeals issued an 8-1 opinion saying a provision of the law violates the separation of powers clause in the Texas Constitution, representing an intrusion by the executive branch into the judicial branch. The attorney general can only get involved in a case when asked to by a district or county attorney, the court said.
Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican who has been aggressive in trying to root out voter fraud, bashed the opinion from the all-GOP court. He said in a tweet that the ruling could be devastating for future elections in Texas.
At stake was a part of the election code that says the attorney general, the states top law enforcement officer, may prosecute a criminal offense prescribed by the election laws of this state.

Paxton went judge shopping. Rodriguez resides in Bexar County, where all of this happened. Rodriguez is a campaign worker, so she isn't charged with fraudulent voting, she's charged with filling out ballots for voters for the candidates that she was working for. (In particular Mauro Garza) She ended up in Kendall County jail for some weird reason. No one could figure it out. Nothing more has been heard about this case in months....

KENDALL COUNTY, Texas A San Antonio campaign worker at the center of a voter fraud case has asked a judge to toss out the warrants used to arrest her earlier this month, claiming in a court filing Friday that the state investigator in the case used false and misleading information to get the warrants signed.
The writ of habeas corpus, filed in Kendall County District Court, asks for a hearing so the four warrants against Raquel Rodriguez can be voided and she can be released from her pretrial release bonds.

Raquel Rodriguez was arrested on Jan. 13 and charged with four felonies, including election fraud and illegal voting, by the state attorney general's office. She was released from the Kendall County Jail, northwest of San Antonio, the following day on bonds totaling $60,000.
A sergeant with the attorney general's office reviewed the raw Project Veritas footage and interviewed the undercover activists who recorded it, according to arrest warrants signed by Kendall County District Judge Kirsten Cohoon.

Now to unearth the corruption that led up to the arrest, detention and the corrupted judge selection.
Rule of law is being openly challenged by open fascists, its so obvious its being mostly ignored.

I guess I could haul myself around several counties to find out, but it isn't worth the effort.
It was probably dropped.
