Beto O'Rourke talks education, guns, healthcare during Lubbock campaign stop

A crowd of several hundred gathered Tuesday afternoon to hear from Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Beto O'Rourke.

The former U.S. Representative from El Paso made a campaign stop in the Hub City as part of a whirlwind tour of the Panhandle/South Plains and West Texas, where he addressed a few messages to the Lubbock audience during his visit at Mae Simmons Park.

O'Rourke talked about the importance of making sure young people a community invests in stay in small towns rather than going to bigger cities.

He said those communities, through their property taxes, pay for children to go to school. They invest in parks, museum and libraries.
