(70,508 posts)After helping to start the fire too. This pandemic is also squarely on people like Abbott and DeSantis
who fought and in many cases stopped mask and vaccine requirements which gave the virus
lots of new hosts in which to grow and mutate.

The people of Texas are lucky that Biden is a bigger man than Abbott.

(6,280 posts).... because there are a lot of good, decent Democrats who live in Texas, and they need help. The one thing that I would make damn sure everyone in the country understands is the fact that he is not doing this in any way shape or form as a favor to Abbott. When election time rolls around, I want Texans, Democrats and repuglicans to know who it was that provided the much-needed aid. President Joe Biden, and not Abbott or Trump. Just makes sense to me.

(8,203 posts)because Trump should be the last president who ever withholds or threatens to withhold federal aid based on peoples' politics.

(6,280 posts).... because that's the kind of decent human being he is. There is no room to let anyone die no matter their politics, and that's who Joe Biden is.

(25,343 posts)The earliest test appointment I can get at Walgreens is on Jan 6th.
My husband was turned away at a testing site this morning.
He finally ponied up $90 to some overpriced place that doesn't accept insurance. His test was positive.

(6,280 posts).... and it's a damn shame you have a governor who really doesn't give a shit. I suppose I can count myself lucky. All of my health care has been through the VA since 1973. Hell, I am in Louisiana with a smaller VA Hospital I go to, and if I show up, I can get tested, free of charge. I have gotten all three vaccine shots there, and there was absolutely zero waiting in line.
I have heard all the stories about some people having a hard time dealing with the VA, but except for a few personality conflicts I have had a pretty smooth Healthcare run for almost 50 years. Y'all take care of yourselves, and I hope your husband, and you get through your ordeal smoothly and as soon as possible.

(25,343 posts)We had purchased tests for the family Christmas party. So we used them prior to that. Afterward my mother in law was admitted to the hospital and tested positive. But alot of people are having numerous symptoms: Cedar allergies.
My son got sick over Christmas, but his test back negative..
Then, my mother's came back positive, so my husband found a place that would test him for $90 and his came back positive.
I assume I am too. I've been sick, but the worst symptom for me is burning eyes.
Hubby gets another week of Christmas vacation.

(6,075 posts)I think she got it wrong, When they go low, we should go high and low.
Biden should go high by giving the Texas people the aid they need without delay.
Democratic operatives should go low by relentlessly hammering on what a hypocritical dirtbag Abbot is.
