It's not gloom and doom

The first thing I do every morning is read the Victoria Advocate online. I stop at the obituaries and scroll through the names looking for someone familiar. When I find that name, I’ll read the entire article because more often than not I’ll come across something I didn’t know about them. I was just telling a group of friends it doesn’t surprise me because back then we didn’t brag. If a person is that good; someone else will parse their glory.

That leads me to why I like the approach this administration is taking.

I am more convinced today of how happy I am in my choice for president. I found and reposted a meme I found that describes Joe Biden: He doesn’t brag, whine, write crazy tweets, or participate in racist rhetoric.

Just last week his conference call with the governors did not include any fighting, just “we’ll get you what you need.” Some on the right took it to mean Biden was giving up. The right seems to forget that Trump used his task force TV appearances as a dog and pony show. Trump gave up on COVID-19 three months prior to the election and three months after. Even worse, his administration refused to cooperate with the incoming administration. That’s giving up.

Republicans have switched tactics since Trump was in office. They used to ignore Trump’s low approval numbers and praise the stock market. Today, they highlight Biden’s low approval numbers, ignore the booming stock market and good economic numbers.

pushed by the MSM that president Biden is failing, they even backed it up by bogus polling. When I called Gallup's numbers bogus I was attacked here, people claimed that Gallup was reputable. I remember back to the 2008 election when Gallup was the worst predictor of all the polls.
I didn't fall for the bogus right wing narrative 3 months ago and I certainly am not falling for it now, president Biden is doing a fantastic job.

I hope his New Year's resolution was to push Chick Schumer to get some pretty important legislation passed.

There are plenty of jobs for everyone who wants it. Pay raises, booming stock market, vaccines, American Rescue Plan, out of Afghanistan, more Americans have health insurance or Medicaid coverage, Infrastructure Act, reunited immigrant kids with their families,

There's more to be done but Dems can still work on Manchin and Sinema to get them in line.

and I grew up about 90 miles to the southwest of there. The overall coverage for the newspaper leans conservative, but they at least seem willing to allow some diverse opinions.

A couple of days before Christmas, I heard him make this statement (I had to look it up so I could be accurate):

“But the answer is, yeah, I wish I had thought about ordering a half a billion [tests] two months ago, before Covid hit here,” he added.
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/23/biden-wishes-he-thought-about-ordering-500-million-at-home-covid-tests-2-months-ago.html

Can you ever, in your wildest dreams, imagine the Previous (A+) Guy making a statement like that - admitting that he could have done things just a little bit better?

I'm PROUD that our guy is just an Honest Joe, a guy who will look you in the eye and tell you like it is.
Even his political enemies know that.

I meant it as a reminder, that after all of TFG's false predictions about the virus (it will just disappear in the spring), all his his disastrous recommendations, and pushing all of his fake remedies (hydroxychloroquin, injecting bleach, something about inserting lights), he continued to insist, as hundreds of thousands of citizens were dying, that he deserves an "A+" for his handling of the pandemic!
