My hope is Beto wins and he brings Democrats with him to take down the four-headed hydra of Texas government: Governor, Lieutenant Governor, AG and the Legislature.

(38,000 posts)So, technically he's still in office until his term ends. The wingnut candidate to replace him just won the primary with 63-ish% of the vote.

Maybe there's votes still to come from the big cities that could change things.
It's also possible Paxton will throw a tantrum and sue George P or scream about voter fraud or some other underhanded thing. He's like that.

I'm inclined to believe that the race will go to a runoff, but until results are reported from Harris county I can't be certain.
