A tweet from one man to another man's girlfriend on the popular social media site Twitter resulted in gunfire Saturday morning, leaving former high school athletic standout Chris Mass dead, police said.
Police converged on Broadway Square Mall shortly after 9:15 a.m. Saturday where they found 23-year-old Mass, the former Chapel Hill basketball and football player, dead in the parking lot near J.C. Penney's.
Tyler Police Public Information Officer Don Martin said Ricky Neal Jr., 25, of Henderson, was taken into custody and subsequently charged with Mass' death.
Chris was a good boy, who liked helping others. Chris was not a bad child. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, Charalan Mosley said at the scene. It all happened over a tweet and Twitter, and all of that stuff.

I am not joking. Are you ready for this (this is in Texas)?
Pick-up jousting, with shotguns.
Down the main drag of Edinburg, Texas, they went. In pick-ups, shooting at each other as they approached at 55 mph.
Cops were called.
My girlfriend had connections, so they hauled them to the slammer and let them go with a stern warning and no guns.
Today ,they would've stopped the fight with a drone strike.

Aren't 20-somethings a little OLD to be still doing the boyfriend-girlfriend crap?

Dumbest murder yet. Not the meanest or the most cruel, but the dumbest. Dead near JCPenney over electronic words. Wow.
