Texas A&M evacuates area around Kyle Field after bomb threat

Texas A&M University evacuated Kyle Field and several surrounding buildings Wednesday afternoon following a bomb threat.

The university issued a Code Maroon alert at 12:55 p.m. that said, "Bomb threat investigation at Kyle. Stadium and adjacent bldgs will be closed for remainder of day. Investigation ongoing."

Authorities said they were notified of the threat at 10:50 p.m. The threat was found on the wall of a non-academic facility on campus.

The evacuated building were the Reed Building, G. Rollie White, the Bright Athletics complex and Netum Steed. The university said about 700 people were evacuated from the buildings.
