Former UT regent pledges $25M to business school
Dallas businessman and former University of Texas System regent Robert B. Rowling has pledged $25 million toward construction of a new business school building at the Austin flagship, officials announced Thursday.
Robert B. Rowling Hall will house graduate programs of the McCombs School of Business, and it will also expand conference and executive education capacity. It will be built on the northeast corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Guadalupe Street, just west of UTs AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center.
The gift Rowlings wife, Terry Hennersdorf Rowling, and their family are listed along with him as donors makes a considerable dent in the universitys newly launched effort to raise $58.3 million in donations to help underwrite the new graduate building.
Bob Rowling already has served his alma mater at the highest levels of volunteer leadership, and with this gift, he and Terry enter the pantheon of the universitys most historically significant supporters, UT President Bill Powers said in a statement.
