Lufkin ISD $140 million bond election proposal list district-wide improvements

Proposition A: $98.2 Million for district-wide improvements

Committee member Chris Johnson presented two separate propositions to the school board. Proposition A totals $98.2 million and addresses facility improvements across the entire district:

- $65.4 million to renovate the high school
- $21 million to build a Career and Technical Education (CTE) facility
- $3.5 million to build an agricultural barn
- $3 million for new school buses
- $2.5 million for district-wide safety and security improvements
- $1.75 million for elementary school safety and improvements
- $1 million for roof repairs

Proposition B: $42 million multi-purpose stadium

Proposition B, valued at $42 million, would transform Abe Martin Stadium into a multi-purpose facility serving the entire student body.

“This stadium is so much bigger than football. It is for band members… for cheer and drill team performances, soccer and track athletes competing at the highest level, and for graduation ceremonies that family members will remember for a lifetime,” said committee member Jaylon Marks.
