Trading classrooms for campaign trails: When professors run for office.

For Jack Trammell, a professor at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., summer has consisted of stump speeches, rallies and hunting for endorsements.

“I teach service learning at Randolph-Macon, where I work, so I decided it was time to practice what I have my students do all the time and to serve … using my education and my experience,” Trammell says.

I recently became a member of a service organization, to remain nameless on this board.

It was serendipity, happened to be in the right place at the right time and am working on all the right projects near my new home.

Take care, elleng!
