Governor orders state offices to stay closed Monday
Gov. Terry McAuliffe has ordered all state offices to close Monday, except to essential workers.
Spokesman Brian Coy confirmed the decision Sunday afternoon.
Transportation Secretary Aubrey Layne said the decision was made in light of potentially dangerous road conditions as temperatures remain frigid overnight.
The Virginia Department of Transportation and localities have warned drivers to stay off roads if possible until conditions improve, which is expected to happen by Tuesday.
