This year's two-day Inova Ladies Board Rummage sale Oct. 19 and 20 “shattered” all previous records for sales and brought in $343,000, according to event organizers.

“We are humbled and overwhelmed by the community’s support,” said Megan O'Brien, event co-chair.

The sale had record attendance both days, with an estimated 7,500 shoppers at Morven Park Equestrian Center. The few items remaining at the closing hour were collected by other charitable organizations.

Event co-chair Joylyn Hannahs said the day was "exhausting and exhilarating all at the same time. The credit and our gratitude go to the hundreds of volunteers and donors who made our job easy.”
....

More than 600 volunteers unloaded, sorted and sold 12 tractor-trailers full of donations.

Net proceeds benefit Inova Loudoun Hospital and the Ladies Board Nursing Scholarship Fund.

Organizers will begin accepting donations early next year in anticipation of the 82nd edition of the rummage sale, scheduled for Oct. 24 and Oct. 25, 2020.
