Since we moved I no longer can go for a run and stop in to vote. I've never had to wait to vote but I'm probably going at peak pre-work time so we'll see.

The only time I remember having to wait was in 2016, at the time we were living in a red part of VA (county went 67% trump). There were lots of women and I thought they were inspired by Hillary, boy was I wrong.

We've since moved and are in a more balanced area (slight republican edge).

We'll be going late morning and usually there isn't a wait.

I flip around on the way to work but I tend to hit the local powerful rightwing station 1140 just before 8. The morning guy basically gives the last marching orders for the day then. Yesterday he had some other rightwing guy on and they were trying to make fun of Biden's appearance in Norfolk over the weekend. "Biden said that Republicans are running like Democrats, what's THAT about?" The guy replied he had no idea. I'm cracking up thinking out loud "Biden CALLED THEM ON THAT?" They knew exactly what Joe was talking about.

If you've noticed Repubs are all about pay raises for teachers and more money for schools. Clearly trying to win the suburban moms or at least lessen the tide rolling in. Neither of those would normally be Repub issues in fact they usually attack anything related to public schools. We even have one guy Sturtevant who says in a radio ad that he favors "common sense gun laws". the gun issue is normally "I support the 2nd Amendment" for them and that's it.

I hope it turns out and people turn out. It's pretty clear that their polling and message is showing that think it's going to get ugly for them.

which should be a surprise to any Virginians who might be happy with their strong economy since the Governor, LT Governor, Attorney General, and 2 US Senators are Dems.

It would be sweet if Dems took the state legislature

State employees got a 5% (well overdue) raise this year AND, as you probably know, there was an extra $100-$200 check just last month. That was due to budget control and meant to offset Trump's tax cut.

Democrats are usually terrible at turn out in off year elections. Come on VA- sending positive vibes. Show the nation what's about to happen in 2020

Judging by the many, many yard signs, I think we’ll do well here in Loudoun.

Senate 25 and House 58 (Albemarle County)

It seemed busier than usual for a state only election on my arrival. I arrived at 11 and was out at 11:20. As I left I looked at the verification tables and no one was waiting. Apparently I arrived in a mini-wave of voters. Seemed like a typical state only election turnout.

I didn't a single Trump bumper sticker in the parking lot. Perhaps that is a good omen.

Later today I will provide transport to a very blue Charlottesville City poling place.

Parking is very tight and I could just drop off the voter. Park for a while elsewhere and cruise back by to pick up.

Not awesomeness on my part.
