Just got our Voter Pamphlet for the upcoming primary & special election.

We have quite a collection of raging nutcases running for various offices. I've seen some silly/joke candidates before, but this crop of ...whatever the hell they are... really takes the cake!

There are the usual suspects (Goodspaceguy (legally changed his name), Alex Tsimerman (another perennial candidate for many offices - has been trespassed from public meetings many times, and even banned from entering City Hall), Tim Eyeman (chair-thief extraordinaire), etc. running in a crowded primary field for Governor (36 candidates!).

There are also some that make the tRump administration appear to be totally competent, by comparison. One of these is candidate for Commissioner of Public Lands, Cameron Whitney ('Prefers Republican Party' is the way he is listed - candidates can declare whatever party affiliation their little hearts desire, so we have things like 'The Trump Republican Party'; 'Unaffiliated'; 'Propertarianist Party'; 'American Patriot Party'; 'Fifth Republic Party'; 'Pre2016 Republican Party', and others).

I like environmental protection. I don't like fires. Let's work together to clean up then environment and stop fires. President Trump says we need to rake our forests to clean up debris that exacerbates fires and that's what I intend to start. Please vote for me, Cameron Whitney.

One of the other Republicans he's running against pledges to direct a state-funded study on 5G cell-phone towers; stop chemtrails in Washington State; he is against "the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, eugenics, Satan, New World Order."

Sadly, there are actually people out there that will actually vote for these wackos, many times to the detriment of candidates with at least a minimal acquaintance with sanity and reason, much less fully-qualified individuals that have long and useful experience..

There are also some extremely scary statements from candidates for Superintendent of Public Instruction...the person that will be in charge of schools throughout the state.

Read your Voters Pamphlet this time around, even if you never have before, before filling in a circle for someone who may just be a far-right (or worse) nutjob. There are some DEEPLY unqualified people running for a LOT of offices throughout the state. Any one of these getting into office (or draining votes from qualified, or even just marginally sane candidates) would be a disaster.

He's the one that had "Stop Seattle / King Fascism with idiotic face!" around 30 times as the main portion of his 'statement'. He has run for a lot of different offices before.

There was also the candidate that listed every school he'd ever attended, starting with elementary school.

The funniest and most tragic voter's pamphlet I have yet to see since I first moved to Washington the year someone ran an actual four-legged jackass for Land Commissioner! One candidate said he was "simple-minded"; another when asked to share his community service responded: "I have picked up trash on the side of the highway" and a third said "I have never been to jail..." among the hundreds I have to choose from.

I have never seen so many typos, run-on sentences, illogical ideas set forth in a single publication.

We have fruit segregators; truck drivers; garbagemen; Cannabis growers; pizza delivery persons; ex-Meth heads; custodians; people against eugenics; anti-Bill Gates Party; anti-devils in Seattle Party who repeated this chant the whole page; Congress Sucks party; numerous pro-Trump party, America First guys; anti-semitic, xenophobic; anti-science climate change experts; people who can't spell governor running for governor; a guy who copied his entire ancestry.com information since 1776 when his ancestors at Valley Forge "would inoculate...against smallpox with the open sore fluid of dying Continental soldiers…."

Elected Experience included High School class president in 1982; Trump-loving former Seattle SWAT commander; America First champion; unemployed individuals applying for any job openings available; GoodSpaceGuy who sends greetings from Spaceship Earth and formerly worked in a chemical plant. Oh, and don't forget the guy who wants to redefine race by hair color.
