Over 65,000 lose power as windstorm rolls into Western Washington
SEATTLE -- For all the stormy weather fans who wade through those seemingly endless warm, summer days longing for a good old fashioned autumn blustery day, Tuesday is for you.
A classic autumn storm is blowing into the region -- you've probably already heard the rain Tuesday morning and some of you have even heard some thunder. Now the whoosh of the trees will join in this meteorological cacophony as the storm blows through.
Wind gusts hit 50 mph along the 520 Bridge, 46 mph in Seattle and along the I-90 Bridge, 44 mph in Shelton, and 40 mph in Everett and Bellingham.
Over 65,000 people were without power at 1 p.m., including about 45,000 PSE customers, nearly 15,000 with Seattle City Light and over 8,000 from Snohomish PUD.
