Officials say to be careful on the water as warm weather arrives this weekend
With the warmer temperatures this weekend, officials from agencies throughout the region are warning people that waterways are still cold and dangerous.
Temperatures are expected to hit the upper-70s to low-80s this weekend, but officials say the water in our state stays below 60 degrees year-round.
Anyone who ventures out on the water is urged to wear a life jacket to protect themselves and to be careful.
Officials said any unexpected fall into cold water can be life-threatening.
