Health officials say King and Snohomish counties are likely rolling back from Phase 3 to Phase 2 after this weekend, due to high COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, but it's not a done deal.
Things can change between now and Tuesday that I can't predict, but I don't have any reason to think that we will not move back to Phase 2, said Dr. Jeffrey Duchin, Health Officer for Public Health Seattle - King County on Friday.
Washington leaders are expected to make the official announcement about changes to county phases this Tuesday.
Duchin said there's not a whole lot King County county can do to turn things around by then.

King County businesses brace for COVID-19 rollback
King County leaders are almost certain the county will have to rollback to phase 2 of Washingtons reopening plan on Tuesday.
Its due to the steep rise in cases and hospitalizations from COVID-19.
This news is being greeted with groans from businesses already hard hit by the coronavirus. They say business was just beginning to pick up, including at Pike Brewing Company.
Were both a brewery and a brew pub and were also a museum of the history of beer, said Charles Finkel, as he walked through his Pike Brewing Companys pub.

Snohomish County almost certain to fall back to Phase 2
EVERETT COVID-19 metrics all but guarantee that Snohomish County will fall back next week to Phase 2 of the states reopening plan, the Snohomish Health District said in a news release Friday.
Locally, and across much of Washington, new cases and hospitalizations are above the states benchmarks for staying in Phase 3. On Tuesday, Gov. Jay Inslee is to announce which counties are sliding back.
To turn the tide, public health officials are pleading with Washingtonians to get vaccinated as demand for shots continues to slow.
We all have it within our power to end this pandemic and its going to take all of us, state Assistant Secretary of Health Michele Roberts said Friday. Its about the behavior of each one of us. If we want the economy reopened, if we want to not wear masks, it depends on people making the choice to be vaccinated.

State officials will evaluate COVID-19 metrics on May 3.
On May 4, Gov. Jay Inslee is expected to announce if any counties will move phases.

In western Washington, King, Kitsap, Lewis, Pacific, Skagit and Snohomish counties were failing both metrics as of April 25, and could be forced back to Phase 2. For weeks, health officials in King and Snohomish counties have warned of a potential rollback.
