Coldplay to host grand-opening concert at Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena
Coldplay is set to open Seattle’s brand-new Climate Pledge Arena, the night before the Kraken take the ice for the first time.
After months of deliberation, Climate Pledge Arena made the opening act announcement Tuesday evening.
The band, fronted by Chris Martin, will play their first arena show in five years on the evening of Oct. 22.
Not only does the show mark the grand opening of the new arena, it also celebrates the release of Coldplay’s highly anticipated ninth album, Music of the Spheres, which is set to take place one week earlier on Oct. 15. The show will be managed by Live Nation, which manages other entertainment venues in the Pacific Northwest.
