Jay Inslee to Idaho officials: 'Stop clogging up my hospitals'

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) criticized neighboring Idaho's leadership late last week, saying that Idaho Gov. Brad Little's (R) policies were "clogging up" Washington's hospitals.

"Today in my state, Washington citizens in many cases cannot get heart surgery, cannot get cancer surgery that they need, because we are having to take too many people of unvaccinated nature and unmasked, many of whom come from Idaho, and that's just maddening frankly," Inslee said in an MSNBC appearance on Friday.

"So we are calling for Idaho and the leaders there to lead and take some commonsense measures," Inslee continued. "I'm disappointed the governor of Idaho has spent more time trying to reduce protection by reducing vaccine usage instead of concentrating on this, and then clogging up my hospitals."

Data shows hospital beds were at 77 percent capacity in Washington last week.

Our hospitals have been full for the entire month of September so far. Driving a car for food is taking a much bigger risk than any time during the plague. Still proudly fully vaccinated, masking, washing hands and trying to have a positive outlook. We hope to give the hospitals space to recover. If these emergency services fail, the chaos will be horrible.

My favorite new tip is 15 minutes of sunshine in the morning and puttering around the yard. I feel great afterwards and just having one small thing done gives me a great boost for the rest of the day.

Idaho we will help but you need to help yourself too. Montana went to crisis care and Utah looks close too. Hold on, bumpy months ahead.

Unless the person in Idaho is vaccinated, they caused this themselves and so should get low priority compared to people who are in dire straits through no fault of their own.
