Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena to feature Amazon's Just Walk Out shopping technology

There’s nothing worse than waiting in long concession lines and missing part of a game or concert. And now Seattle fans won't have to when they visit Climate Pledge Arena.

The arena announced Wednesday that it will be implementing Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology with Amazon One at four of its food and beverage locations when the arena opens in October.

With the technology, fans can grab what they want and leave without stopping to check out, allowing them to get back to their seats faster.

When arriving at a Just Walk Out location, guests will enter their payment cards or scan their palms over an Amazon One device. While guests shop for what they want, Amazon tracks what is taken from and returned to the shelves. When finished, shoppers simply walk out, and the card entered or Amazon One ID will be charged with the items that left the store.

You'd still need someone to pour your beer. It's the state law.

Probably just a credit card or if you're a season ticket holder it would be charged to your account Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin Sep 2021 #2

I can see Amazon pushing for everyone to get an Amazon account to shop there. For those of us who boycott Amazon, things like this make it increasingly difficult to live in Seattle. People simply don't grok the concept of a boycott. Workplaces give out Amazon gift cards. Our apartment gave us an Amazon gift card for re-upping our rent,.no choice to get anything else (I'm using that since I don't want Amazon to just keep the $1500, but it's annoying).

Worse, people are losing the ability to wait in line patiently.
