Former WSU coach Nick Rolovich to file lawsuit against school for 'illegal termination'

PULLMAN, Wash. (KOMO) — The now-former Washington State University football coach is bringing legal action to the school.

Nick Rolovich was fired from the university after declining to comply with Gov. Jay Inslee’s COVID vaccine mandate. Four other assistant coaches were also let go.

KOMO News learned Rolovich asked for religious exemption but was denied.

Now, Rolovich’s lawyer is saying they will take legal action against WSU and everyone responsible in the “illegal termination” of his contract.

Do they have a belief against vaccines?

being snarky - hope he loses big and fast and is reduced to selling his coaching expertise on 'gofundme' page.

Usually, these contracts have some future money guaranteed (typically 30-50%) but that money can be voided if the coach is fired for cause -- which usually involves bringing NCAA sanctions, breaking the law, sexually harassment, and other violations of university general policy.

If he had been fired because the team went 0-12 for several years, he would get money. He should not get money for this defiance of a university policy.

He will likely get a job as a commentator for FOX sports -- but no money from WSU.

They may settle if it looks like the legal fees will exceed their standard retainers, but he has little leg to stand on.

Fuck that guy. What an asshole. He made his choice but now does not want the responsibility for it.
