FEMA to send mobile vaccination units to Western Washington

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Washington Gov. Jay Inslee held a press conference Thursday to address the state's ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The governor was joined by Secretary of Health Umair Shah and Lacy Fehrenbach, deputy secretary of the state department of health's COVID response.

During the press conference, Inslee discusses plans to have FEMA send mobile vaccination units to help distribute vaccines to the public.

The site at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center is scheduled to open on Dec. 20 and will operate for about 30 days. A second site is also scheduled to open somewhere in King County, but the location has not been determined.

I'm a bit confused - is there a giant shortage of places to get vaxxed in the Seattle metro area, so bad that FEMA has to step in?
