Cold showers with wet snow possible through most of region

SEATTLE - Cold showers Tuesday may contain some wet snow at times.

Little to no accumulation will occur aside from maybe a quick coating on the grassy surfaces in spots. Ongoing rain/snow showers Wednesday with the Hood Canal/Kitsap Peninsula/Mason County could mean seeing 1-3 inches of snow accumulation.

Conditions will be trending colder in the days leading up to Christmas. The extend of the cold air and snow (if any) is still too early to call in terms of our potential of having a White Christmas this year. Lots of ingredients need to come together to make it happen!

A La Niña weather pattern is in full swing. Persistent northwest flow ensures a steady stream of cold air into Western Washington.
